The Neon Demon (El demonio Neon), es una película de terror del cineasta danés Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives), la cual cuenta con las actuaciones de principales de Keanu Reeves y Elle Fanning.

La trama gira en torno a un grupo de supermodelos que va a los extremos con el fin de encontrar el camino hacia el éxito, incluyendo vudú y canibalismo. Elle Fanning interpreta a una joven modelo que se encuentra en un mundo de belleza y ruina.

La cinta está inspirada en la historia de Isabel Bathory, que se hizo conocida como la ‘Condesa Sangrienta’ asesina en serie del siglo XVI que supuestamente se bañaba con la sangre de sus víctimas para mantenerse joven.

Complementan el elenco Christina Hendricks, Jena Malone, Bella Heathcote, Desmond Harrington y la supermodelo australiana Abbey Lee.

Nicolas Winding Refn: “Un día me desperté y me di cuenta que estaba rodeado y dominado por mujeres. Extrañamente, surgió en mí una repentina necesidad de hacer una película de terror acerca de la belleza cruel”. Refn co-escribió el guion junto a Mary Laws.
